Viewing Code Playback in Reports

Viewing Code Playback in Reports

On the Mercer | Mettl platform, when a test-taker attempts a coding question by writing code in our backend programming simulator, clients can access the Code Playback feature in the generated report. This feature provides a comprehensive overview of the entire coding journey taken by the test-taker during the assessment and helps clients gauge the thought process/approaches taken by the test-takers while solving the coding question.

To check the Code Playback in a test-takers report, follow the steps below:

1. Log into your Mercer | Mettl account and click on the My Tests tab on the top left. Click on the Test Takers option on an assessment that contains a backend programming simulator question.

2. On the test-takers page click on the Configure Report Settings button, enable Question Wise Details and then click on Save Settings.

3. In the section which shows all the test-takers who have taken the test, click on the test-taker's name whose report you want to view. You will be redirected to a new tab that displays the Test-Taker's entire report. Scroll down to find the Code Playback video.

Note: The Code Playback feature is not available when you click on the Download Report button to obtain a PDF report of the test-taker. To view Code Playback, you MUST click on the test-taker’s name, which will redirect you to their report on the browser itself.

The playback will provide details on how the test-taker's code has evolved and the results of each time the test-taker tried to test their code by clicking on the play button. You can also view the total time taken by the test-taker to write the code, the marks scored, the language used, and the plagiarism score.

By clicking on the View Compilation Result button, as shown below, you can see how many test cases the test-taker's code passed at that time.

Additionally, you can click on the View Summary button to view the entire summary of the Code Playback.
