Enable Examine LTI in Moodle

LTI Tool Setup

As a system admin:
  1. Navigate to Settings > Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Manage tools under External Tool
  2. Click on configure a tool manually.


  1. Input the following details on the next page.
  2. Enter Tool name.
  3. Enter the Launch URL into the Tool base URL field - 
    1. https://lms.mettl.com/lti/launch (For India server)
    2. https://lms.mercermettl.eu/lti/launch (For EU server)
  4. Tool provider key & Tool provider secret : To be shared by your Mercer | Mettl Account Manager.
  5. Choose Default launch container always as New Window.
Please ensure that the Default Launch container setting is set to  New Window as Mettl doesn't permit opening in an iFrame.
 
  1. Under Privacy, set to always share launcher's name and email with tool. Also, set Accept grades from the tool as always.
  2. Save changes.

Map an Assessment to a Course

  1. Navigate to a course and turn on Edit mode.


  1. Click on Add an activity or resource.

  1. Choose External tool.
  2. Input the name of External tool in Activity name and Input the previously created tool on Preconfigured tool.

  1. Click on Show more and input the Launch container as New Window.
  2. Save the settings for the tool.
  3. You will be redirected to the External tool. Click on Open in new window.


  1. Click on Login as test creator.



  1. Please click on Add button corresponding to the assessment that you want to add to this particular course.



  1. You are redirected to the anti cheating settings. Please choose the settings and click on Add to course.



Take the Assessment as a Candidate

  1. Student can login into Moodle and navigate to their courses and then to external tool under the course.


  1. By clicking on external tool, the candidate will be redirected to Mercer | Mettl platform to give the assessment.


View the Score of the Candidate

  1. Navigate to the Course and then to Grades.
  2. For additional details, please navigate to course and then click on assignment. Please login as Support User and search by candidate's Email. You will be shown all the details along with the report link for the candidate.
