MSB Installation failure trouble shooting steps
MSB installation can fail due to some outdated files on your system which are essential for MSB Installation. If your files are outdated, you will see the following installation failure pop-up on your screen.
How to resolve the above installation failure?
The following three programs are either not present on your system or if present then these programs are outdated, you need to uninstall these programs from your system and then download the fresh ones. Here is how:
Step 1: Open Control Panel then select program. On the programs page select uninstall a program.
Step 2: In the program's list, search for the below mentioned three programs and uninstall them from your system.
- NET Framework 4.7.2 Runtime - Right click on all the programs of Net Framework Runtime and uninstall them.
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime - Right click on this program and windows will automatically present you with the option to repair once you select repair. This will automatically update this program.
- Visual C++ Redistributable - One by one right click on all the programs of Visual C++ Redistributable and uninstall them.
Step 3: Once the outdated programs are uninstalled, you are required to install the latest versions. Use the following link below to download the latest programs and then install them.
- NET Framework 4.7.2 Runtime: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/net472
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime: Automatically Updated on Repair
- Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
Step 4: Install the above two files by double clicking on them.
Step 5: Once successfully installed, please relaunch MSB again.
In case the above does not work, uninstall MSB and install again from latest link.
