Enable Examine LTI in Canvas
Canvas is a web-based learning management system, or LMS. It is used by learning institutions, educators, and students to access and manage online course learning materials and communicate about skill development and learning achievement.
This article explains how you may enable Examine in your Canvas LMS.
As an Admin, you will need to configure Mercer | Mettl Examine as an External App.
If your Mettl Account is on our India Servers
From the Global Navigation, click on Admin > Settings > Apps. Here, search for Mettl and select Mercer | Mettl Examine.
On click on Add App, you will be prompted to enter the Consumer Key and Shared Secret that will be provided by your Mettl Account Manager.
Click on Add App to complete the configuration.
If your Mettl Account is on our EU/China Servers
From the Global Navigation, click on Admin > Settings > Apps. Then, click Add App.
Here, select the Configuration Type as "By URL" and enter a name of your choice such as Mettl Examine.
Fill in the Consumer Key, Shared Secret and Config URL provided by your Mettl Account Manager.
Configure an assignment on Canvas with:
Submission type “External Tool”
Search for the name of the Mettl tool which was configured above and select it.
Check Load This Tool In A New Tab.
Instructors would be able to select the relevant test from the list of tests in the Mettl Account.

Next, configure settings like Browser Tolerance and Advance Visual Proctoring.
The mapping is now complete.
When the student launches the Assignment, the student is redirected to the Mettl Test which was mapped to the Canvas Assignment.
Students complete the Test and marks of the student is updated in the LMS.
