With increased pace of data creation in the digital space, data archiving has become an integral part of global record management practices for reasons such as compliance requirements, lawsuit management, storage reduction, business intelligence and information governance.
Mercer-Mettl follows the global standards of archiving data of tests in its client accounts for the above reasons.
What is Data Archiving?
Data Archiving is a 2-step process:
Step 1: identifying data that got created in an account in the past and is no longer getting actively used.
Step 2: Moving the identified data from active databases to long-term storage systems. Such a data is stored in a manner that it can be retrieved back into service when needed.
As per this process, any test created in an account of Mercer-Mettl can be archived and then retrieved.
How to archive a test?
Step 1: Go to My Tests page in your account.
Step 2: Identify the test that needs to be archived. For that test click on its Options > Archive Test.
How to unarchive (retrieve) an archived test?
Step 1: Go to My Tests page in your account.
Step 2: On the right of the Test Search (at the top of the page), click on Options > Show Archived.
You would be shown a list of all the tests archived in your account.
Step 3: Identify the test that needs to be retrieved. For that test click on its Options > Unarchive Test.
New tests cannot be taken if a test is archived. To allow test takers to attempt that test, please unarchive it as per the process mentioned above.
Following actions can be performed on an archived test:
- Viewing test reports belonging to that test
- Grading test reports belonging to that test
- Fetching data of test reports of that test via Mettl APIs
- Downloading Excel and PDF reports of individual test reports
- Unarchiving the test
