Creating an Assessment :


Step1. Click on the “Create New Test” button for the existing account



or Click on “Create your OWN TEST” for new account.



Step2. Enter a name for your test in the “Test Name” text box and click “Proceed”.



Test Language: 

  • This field display’s the language that will be used a default language when the test is started.

  • Selecting the language will only change the “Defaults” or “Generic” navigations options available on the test window as shown in the below screenshot.



As Practice Session : 

  • If you want to set the Assessment as a practice test, we need to click on the check box.

  • A practice test has few features as mentioned in the screenshot below.

 

 

Step3. Type the required skill name in the “Search and add skill to test “text box. Now select the relevant skill from the drop-down that appears. You may Add multiple skill sets in the same test.


   

Step 4.  Customizing the blue print of a test:

 

Section Name:

  • Double Click on the default section name and type the desired name.

  • You may set the same section name for multiple “skills / Question Banks” that has been added. Thus, when the test is started questions from these skill sets would be presented under the one “Section Name”.



Skill Name :

  • It is a non-customizable field.

  • This field displays the “Name of the Question Bank”.



Source:

  • It is a non-customizable field.

  • It indicates the source from where the “Skill Name” has been picked.

  • It can either be “Mettl” indicating that this question bank has been picked from Mettl library or

  • It can be “Self” indicating that this question bank has been picked from the list available under “My Question” tab. Under “My Question” tab, you have the option of uploading your own content on platform.


Level:

  • This field displays the difficulty level of the questions that will be picked from the “Skill Name” that has been added.

  • Three Difficulty level are supported on Mettl Platform namely “Easy”, “Medium” &” Difficult”.

  • In order to have three difficulty level of the same Skill, we have to add that skill three times. We cannot have the same skill with same difficulty level twice in the same test.

  • You may double click on the level and select the desired value from the drop down list.

  • “Skill Name” will have only the questions from those difficulty level which are being displayed on double clicking the Level.



Q- Type:

  • This field displays the Type of question that will be picked from the question being used.

  • There are multiple types of question supported on platform i.e. MCQ,MCA,Long Answer Type etc. Please refer Question Upload Documents for detailed information.


 

No. of Questions:

  • This field displays the number of question that will be displayed in the test and Total Number of questions available in the question banks being used.

  • The format of display is “No. of Question to be Displayed” of “Total Question Available”. For e.g. As in below screenshot 25 questions would be picked out of 2340.

  • We may create a Sub set of the questions from the total questions available.

  • To Create the Subset, we should click on “2340” and we able be view all the questions. Now, we can select the desired questions from the out of these 2340 questions. The number of questions should be either greater than or equal to the number of question selected for display.

  • Thus, the question from the subset will only be displayed in the test.

  Correct Grade:

  • This field displays the Marks allotted for each correct answer for that Skill.

  •  You may double click the current marks and enter the desired value.

 In-Correct Grade:

  • This field displays the Marks allotted for each in-correct answer for that Skill.

  •  You may double click the current marks and enter the desired value.

  • This field has Specific format, marks should be preceded with “-“ Minus.

  • As shown in below screenshot 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in the “Technical Aptitude” Skill under Difficultly level “Easy”.

 Select Question:

    • This field displays the number of question that is fixed / displayed every time this test is started.

    • You may click on the current Number and select the desired question from the available questions.

    • The number of questions should be either less than or equal to the number of question selected for display.

    • In case you have created a Sub Set, then you will have the option of selecting the questions from the Sub set only.

 Delete / Remove Skill:

  • To remove a skill, we need to click on the “Delete icon” as shown in the snapshot below.

 Doted Lines:
  • This field has additional options of setting the time for a section.

  • Also, the option of disabling the randomization on the questions.

  

Step 5: Now, set the total duration of the test. 


 

Step 6: Click on Save and exit.



Step 7 : Candidate Performance Categories

  • While saving the assessment, we will have the option of Setting the performance categories.

  • Alternatively, you may click on “Later” if you want to set the same at later instance.

  • Performance categories helps in bifurcating the reports.




Step 8:  Assessment Creation
 


Step 9:  Once the assessment has been saved same shall be available under “MY TESTS” tab.
